Half your ranch has zero cell service. Your time tracking shouldn't care.
Your hands are spread across 3,000 acres of pasture. Cell towers don't reach the upper range. And you're still tracking hours on paper that gets wet, lost, or turned in a week late. Farm TimeCard works offline, captures GPS, and syncs when they're back in range.

What changes when you switch
Before
Ranch hand turns in a crumpled timesheet Friday afternoon. Three days are missing. You spend an hour reconstructing hours from memory.
After
Every clock in and clock out is recorded with GPS and a timestamp. Syncs automatically. No paper. No memory test.
Before
Calving season — everybody's working 55+ hours. You don't realize the OT cost until payroll hits.
After
Dashboard shows weekly hours against the 48-hour line. You see OT building mid-week and plan for it.
Before
No idea how many hours go to fence repair versus feeding versus calving. You just know everyone's always busy.
After
Activity tracking shows hours by task. You find out fencing took 40% more time than you thought. That changes your equipment and hiring decisions.
Everything in one place
Core time tracking is available on every plan. Advanced compliance, payroll, safety, and operations tools unlock by tier.

A day on your beef/cattle with Farm TC
6:00 AM
Foreman clocks in at the main barn — has signal here. Assigns hands to pastures and tasks for the day.
6:30 AM
Hands head to upper pastures. They clock in to their assigned location — no signal, but the punch saves with GPS on the phone.
10:15 AM
Break prompt after 4 hours. Hand taps to take rest break. Attestation recorded even offline.
5:00 PM
Hands return to the barn. Phones pick up signal and sync all punches from the day. Foreman reviews the dashboard.
Friday
Export payroll for the week. Hours, OT, and locations are clean. No reconstructing from crumpled paper.

Common questions
What if I already use paper timesheets?
Most ranches we talk to do. Run both for a week. Once you see the digital records are clean and the hands actually use it, drop the paper. The transition is usually faster than expected because clocking in is one tap.
What if my crew doesn't have smartphones?
For a small ranch crew, a shared device at the barn works. Your foreman can also use supervisor batch entry to record everyone's hours. We're building BLE relay support for fixed clock-in points.
Can my bookkeeper access this?
Yes. External bookkeeper role. They pull payroll data and reports without seeing employee personal info.
What happens if I cancel?
Data stays accessible for 60 days. Export what you need before that window closes.
How is this different from QuickBooks Time?
In the public QuickBooks Time materials we reviewed, we did not find Oregon agriculture-specific 48-hour overtime or AEOTC workflows. Farm TimeCard is built around those Oregon farm use cases and can still export clean data into QuickBooks payroll workflows.
How is this different from free apps like Homebase?
In the public Homebase materials we reviewed, we did not find Oregon agriculture-specific overtime, AEOTC, or audit-ready farm workflows. Homebase is a general hourly-team product; Farm TimeCard is built around Oregon farm operations.
Does this work with spotty cell service?
Not just spotty — zero. True offline mode. Punches save on the phone with GPS and sync when signal returns. This is the most important feature for ranches.
Do you guarantee compliance?
No. Tools, not guarantees. This isn't legal advice. Confirm your obligations with a qualified advisor.
What if I only have 3-4 employees — is it worth it?
A 4-worker farm recovering about 5 hours a month of recordkeeping time at $30/hour would recover about $150/month before any AEOTC value. Actual savings depend on your workflow, worker count, tier, and tax-year eligibility.
What's the AEOTC and can I really get money back?
The Agricultural Employer Overtime Tax Credit (ORS 315.133) lets Oregon farms offset OT costs. $55M/year cap, only $5.1M claimed in 2024. For non-dairy farms under 25 FTE, the 2025-2026 rate is 80%. If calving season means OT every week, you should be claiming this. Confirm eligibility with your CPA.
Can I just use pins instead of drawing geofences?
Yes. Pins are fast to set up and work well for ranches where boundaries are large or irregular. Drop a pin at the pasture gate, the corral, the barn. Punches show distance from the pin so you can verify location.
What about calving season when everyone works long hours?
That is when weekly visibility matters most. The dashboard shows hours against the 48-hour line so you can see overtime building in real time. Calving-season overtime can also create AEOTC value, depending on hours and filing eligibility.
Clean records. Less paperwork. More time for your pastures.
Even a 4-hand operation recovering about 5 hours/month of paperwork time can justify the system before any AEOTC value is considered. Actual savings depend on workflow and plan.
